Charlotte, NC – Saint Martin’s Jillian Stray wrapped up her freshman season with a trip to the NCAA Division II National Championship Meet held at Johnson C. Smith University.
Stray posted a throw of 122’3” in the women’s javelin event to finish in 17th overall.
“This was a big step up in competition for Jillian and I know she learned a lot from being around the best throwers in the nation,” said head coach Julie Sullivan. “She performed admirably and I know she can’t wait for another chance in this arena.”
Earlier this season Stray set a new school record in the event with a throw of 140’10” and became just the second female athlete from SMU to make it to the championship meet.
