Baseball: Lutes shut down Saints

Parkland, WA – Pacific Lutheran held Saint Martin’s to just five hits as they shutout the Saints and grabbed the 7-0 victory Sunday at PLU Field.
Scott Wall threw seven scoreless innings, allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out nine, to pick up the win.
Andrew Elke, Cody Brooks, Andy Cole, Travis Jones and Bobby Twedt Jr. accounted for the Saints five hits with one each.
PLU scored two runs each in the third, fourth and sixth innings then tacked on one more in the bottom of the eighth.
The Lutes were led by Sammy Davis who was 3-4 on the day while Ben Shively and Ryan Aratani were both 3-5.  
Michael McIver was tagged with the loss giving up five earned runs and 13 hits over five innings of work.
The Saints hit the road this coming week as they travel to California to take on Cal Poly Pomona in a four game, three-day series starting on Friday the 12th.
