Seattle, WA – Seattle Pacific held a double-digit lead at halftime and never looked back picking up the 80-54 win over Saint Martin’s Thursday night in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest at the Brougham Pavilion.
SPU led by just one, 17-16, with nine minutes to play in the first half but the Falcons used an 11-2 run over the next four minutes to take a 10 point lead, 28-18. After the Saints cut it to six, Seattle Pacific scored nine of the last 11 points in the half to take a 39-26 advantage into the break.
The Falcons hit a three-pointer to open up the second half and continued to add to their lead. They never let the Saints get closer than 15 and opened up as much as a 28 point lead in the game.
Krissy Bassett and Roni Jo Mielke had 10 points apiece for the Saints, who shot just 32 percent in the game. The Falcons, who hit a 53 percent clip from the field, were paced by Sydney Benson with 16 points.
Seattle pacific held a 36-32 edge on the board although Dara Zack pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds for SMU.
The Saints return home for a game against the visiting Western Washington Vikings on Saturday, January 16th.
