Lacey, WA – Jill Webb picked up her third and fourth goals of the season as Saint Martin’s beat Cal State East Bay on Thursday in a non-conference game played at the Regional Athletic Complex.
Shannon White put SMU on the board in the 61st minute as she got the ball of a CSUEB keeper deflection and sent it into the back of the net.
Saint Martin’s made it 2-0 eight minutes later as Kayci Donatelli played the ball through to Webb who dribbled and scored from the top of the box. Webb would find the net again at the 77:47 mark to put the game away. Megan Beisley and Caley Wiseman were credited with the assist.
“The women looked good going forward,” said head coach Rob Walker. “Jill and Kayci really found their stride in the second half. All in all, just a very good outing, very smooth and very technical.”
SMU outshot East Bay 20-9, launching 12 at the net in the second half alone. CSUEB keeper Nina Cefalo had seven saves in goal for the Pioneers while Ashley Engel tallied five saves for the Saints to earn the shutout.
Sonoma State comes to town for a game on Saturday, September 5th scheduled for 3pm at the Regional Athletic Complex.
