Goodyear, AZ – Saint Martin’s women’s golf finished up play at the three-day, two-round Grand Canyon University Fall Invitational with a 12th place showing.
The Saints posted a combined total of 635 to finish tied with Chico State. Lauren Roberts led the Saints with a total of 155. Vanessa Sinclair shot a 158 with Karly Olsen right behind her with a 159. Alexi Coltom posted a 163 while Kim Vivian tallied a 170.
“There were a lot of low scores; it was a very competitive field and showed us what we need to do to compete in the West Region,” said head coach Bob Grisham. “The bright spot was that we shot better in the second round and posted a lower overall team score which was a good way to finish.”
Northern Arizona took first in the 16 team tournament with a total of 580, 14 strokes ahead of second place finishers California Baptist University and Cal State Monterey Bay at 594.
The Saints return home to prepare for their next tournament which will be October 11-13 when they head to Bellingham to participate in the Western Washington Invite.
