Nampa, ID – Jamie Herrick and Brandi Klemm each pitched complete game one run ball games to lead Saint Martin’s to 12-1 and 7-1 wins over Northwest Nazarene Saturday at Halle Field.
Herrick held the Crusaders to just six hits in the opener as the Saints pounded out 12 runs on 13 hits. SMU got three runs in the second on three hits while taking advantage of two NNU errors.
The Saints tacked on three more in the third on a three-run blast by Holly Morris to right center. It was Morris’ 35 career home run which puts her tied for second in GNAC history.
In the sixth SMU went on a tear plating six runs highlighted by a two-run homer by Kristine Kaneshiro, a triple by Morris and back-to-back-to-back doubles by Danny White, Kaci Hernandez and Lisa Holombo.
Morris was 3 for 4, including two triples, and four runs batted in. Kaneshiro, Hernandez and Holombo had two hits apiece in the game.
Klemm allowed just seven hits in game two with two strikeouts and no walks. SMU got on the board in the first on a RBI fielder’s choice by Kelsie McGladrey. NNU tied it with their only run of the game in the second.
The Saints broke the tie with four runs in the fifth on a two-run double by McGladrey, a sac fly by Kirstin Davidson and a Crusader error.
Kaneshiro led the Saints with three hits and two runs scored. Morgan Klemm and Morris added two hits each.
The Saints finish the season with a record of 16-37 overall and 14-25 in the GNAC.
