Lacey, WA – James Douglas and Brandi Klemm were named at the great Northwest Athletic Conference Pitcher-of-the-Week for their performances on the mound this past week in baseball and softball respectively.
Douglas shutout Montana State Billings as the Saints got the 8-0 victory. He allowed just six hits in the contest and didn’t walk a batter while striking out two.
Klemm won two of three decisions for the Saints as she shutout both Montana State Billings and Western Washington in 8-0 wins. She allowed just three earned runs in 18 1/3 innings. Klemm also did her part at the plate going 11 for 31 to bat .355 on the week and drove in four runs.
“Brandi has worked extremely hard this season to get to the level of pitching she is at. She’s learned from every game and practice, and used it to make her a stronger, smarter pitcher,” said head coach Tiffany Qunell. “I’m very proud of her achievements.”
