Spokane, WA – A total of 10 student-athletes, six women and four men, were named to the 2009 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Soccer Academic all-star team.
On the women’s side, Jenny Baker led the charge with a 3.80 grade point average as a junior biology major. Jill Webb, a junior education major, posted a 3.61 GPA.
Amber Pratt, Kelcy Ware, Julianna Sackeyfio and Shannon White were selected for the second year in a row. Pratt is a junior engineering major with a 3.57 grade point while Ware, a junior, maintains a 3.53 as a business major.
Sackeyfio and White, both juniors majoring in biology, have a 3.44 and 3.33 GPA respectively.
For the men, James Schmid boasts the highest GPA, a 3.60, as a sophomore biology major. Vlad Voin, a junior biology major, holds a 3.48 grade point.
Austin Kelley is a junior engineering major with a 3.45 GPA and Zac Lubin is a junior majoring in history with a 3.23 grade point average.
To be eligible for the GNAC academic team, student-athletes must have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 and be in at least their second year of competition at their university.
