Volleyball: Nanooks down Saints

Lacey, WA – The University of Alaska Fairbanks came out on top against Saint Martin’s with a 25-17, 25-23, 17-25, 25-18 win on Thursday in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game at the Marcus Pavilion.
The Saints were led by Kristin Anderson who had a team high 11 kills and Kirstyn Anderson with 10 kills. But it wasn’t enough as Jessica Hill slammed down 14 kills for Fairbanks and Heather Lyons recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 14 digs.
The Nanooks outhit the Saints .167-.109 on the night and also recorded seven blocks.
Saint Martin’s battled but just couldn’t find their stride in the match. Defensively for SMU, Brianna Bautista had 15 digs while Teilissa Tua added nine kills and five blocks.
The Saints remain at home for a game against Alaska Anchorage University on Saturday.
