Billings, MT – Jill Webb and Julianna Sackeyfio combined for three goals and two assists as Saint Martin’s defeated Montana State Billings 3-0 in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match Thursday afternoon at the Yellowjacket soccer field.
Sackeyfio struck first scoring the only goal of the first half off a corner kick from Webb in the 39th minute.
Webb would make it 2-0 on an unassisted shot at the 48:47 mark. The two would team up again as Webb got her second goal of the game, 11th of the season, in the 78th minute on a breakaway; Sackeyfio was credited with the assist.
Saint Martin’s outshot Billings 16-10 in the game though the Yellowjackets held the edge on corner kicks at 5-3.
Ashley Engel made five saves in goal for Saint Martin’s to earn the shutout. Despite allowing the three goals, Jordan Fenwick had seven saves for MSUB.
The Saints, now 10-7 overall and 6-4 in conference, opened up a six point lead over MSUB for third place in the GNAC.
The Saints remain on the road as they travel to Nampa, ID to take on Northwest Nazarene on Saturday.
