Monmouth, OR – Jenny Baker and Jill Webb combined for four goals to lead Saint Martin’s to a 4-0 victory over Western Oregon University in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game at the WOU Soccer Field.
Baker scored first in the 37th minute as she sent one into the back of the net off a cross from Caley Wiseman.
The score would remain 1-0 going into the break but the Saints poured it on in the second half. Just seven minutes in Webb beat WOU keeper Brittney Rigtrup to the ball on the left box and dished it in.
Seven minutes later Baker connected for her second goal this time on an assist from Shannon White.
Webb scored again at the 69:40 mark as she dribbled past the Western defenders to the net for her ninth goal of the season.
Saint Martin’s held a slight edge on shots at 18-15. Ashley Engel made eight saves for the Saints while Rigtrup had 10 saves for Western Oregon.
The win bumps the Saints to 9-7-0 overall this season and a 5-4-0 record in the GNAC.
The Saints remain on the road this week as they travel to Montana State Billings on Thursday the 29th and Northwest Nazarene on the 31st.
