Yakima, WA – Kyle Van Santen finished eighth to post the highest finish for Saint Martin’s at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship at the Apple Ridge Run Course.
Van Santen covered the 8k course in 25:28 averaging 5:07 a mile to earn himself all-conference honors. The finish also put himself in contention for the West Regional Championships.
“Kyle ran a great race today,” said head coach Julie Sullivan. “We had talked and planned for a top ten place today and we knew that it was going to be tough as our conference competition gets tougher each year. Kyle put himself in contention from the start and made the right moves at the right time.”
