Bellingham, WA – There were some very promising performances from both the men’s and women’s cross country teams at the 36th Annual Western Washington Cross Country Invite at East Lake Padden Park.
Kyle Van Santen continued his build for the upcoming conference championships with a ninth place finish in the men’s 10k. His time of 32:32 was a minute faster than he ran last year. Nick Harvey finished 36th in 34:21 while Noah Caffrey placed 47th in 34:50.
Joseph Patti and Scott Bauer posted times of 35:20 and 35:37 respectively. The team took sixth overall, a good showing being down a runner in Spencer Hunt.
The women were also without one of their top five at the meet but were able to post a sixth place finish. Annie Laweryson finished under 24 minutes for the first time this season with a time of 23:58. Helen Camden came in a 24:12 while Joscelyn Minton finished in 25:11. Kaitlynn Pecha and Krinda Carlson were the other two scorers for the Saints in 25:13 and 25:24.
