Cross Country: Four Saints named to all-academic team
November 14, 2008

Lacey, WA – Saint Martin’s had four student-athletes selected to the 2008 Great Northwest Athletic Conference cross country all-academic team.

Krinda Carlson posted the highest grade point average in the conference for the second year in a row. Carlson, an English major, maintains a perfect 4.0.

Ninalynn Benitez, Helen Camden and Annie Laweryson were the other Saints honored. Benitez is an education major with a 3.81 GPA. Camden, a criminal justice major, has a 3.64 grade point. Laweryson maintains a 3.23 grade point as a biology major.

“With a very young cross country team this year, it was exciting that the four women received this accolade, and for Krinda to have a perfect 4.0, and to lead the whole conference is a credit to Saint Martin's University,” said head coach Julie Sullivan. “With some hard times at the beginning of the season that affected all of these ladies, to come back and compete so well both in the classroom and out in the field shows what a strong and capable group of young ladies we have to be proud of.”
